Therapeutic care
The therapeutic care of breast cancer is multidisciplinary. A treatment decision is never based on a single doctor’s opinion. Decisions are discussed and/or recorded during the Interdisciplinary Concertation Meetings (ICM). This working methodology is a professional obligation in compliance with measure 31 of the cancer plan 1.
By organizing an ICM framework it possible to offer each patient the best possible treatment based on the characteristics of the lesion in question and on a patient’s specific case in combination with the most recent science and research data.
The goal of the treatment is twofold:
- firstly, treat the cancer located in the breast
- secondly, estimate the risk of the cancer spreading in order to recommend the most appropriate complementary treatment.
